Treadmill

Decided to take a rest day last Sunday. Got drawn for Wasatch on Saturday and Hardrock on Sunday. Stoked for Hardrock, I was motivated to keep the morning peak outings going like last week. Unfortunately, I woke up Monday morning feeling sick. I knew it was coming since Lori, Mia, and Anya had been sick for a few days already. So went back to bed Monday. Skipped Tuesday and Wednesday also. Wanted to get better for the race this weekend. Decided I needed to do something for the legs this morning, so just a short, easy jog.

From Marshall Mesa TH, north on 93 to South Boulder Creek West TH, lower Big Bluestem, upper Big Bluestem, south on Mesa, "Bridge" trail, down Shadow, Old Mesa, down the road in Eldorado Springs, sneak trail up to Fowler, Goshawk, Spring Brook South, Doudy Draw up the hill, Flatirons Vista South, across 93, Greenbelt Plateau, Community Ditch east, Marshall Valley, Marshall Mesa TH.

With Mark O. Started at 7:12 am.

Started at 6:31 am. Started out slow, but then managed to up the effort as I warmed up. Worked pretty hard on the downhill. On the upper parts, I was flying. Slowed on the lower stuff where it was more rocky and icy. I think this may be a downhill PR for this route.

Started at 6:35 am. Empty tank today. I'll blame it on only 5.5 hours of sleep each of the last two nights. Hiked most of this one, but even that felt like a lot of work this morning.

Started at 6:35 am. Sounds strange, but I didn't have the legs for running like last Tuesday, yet I was 3:29 faster to the summit. Fast hiking just seems more efficient for me on this steep route. Roger Linfield was on the summit when I arrived, so we chatted for a bit. Tony K arrived as I was getting ready to start down. Came down fairly easy.
