From the Bobolink TH, South Boulder Creek trail south to Marshall Road; back the same.
Started at 6:02 pm. After registering for the PPM today, time to get off the couch. This nice, flat run should be perfect training for that race. Ran this reasonably hard. Not very fast, though.

Pyramid attempt
Photos
Started from the T Lazy 7 Ranch around 4:30 am. Skied up the Maroon Lake Rd, on up past Crater Lake, and a few hundred feet up the West Face of Pyramid. Stashed the skis and worked our way up to the NW Ridge. On up the ridge on easy terrain. At the bottom of the "loose gully", we went off route and followed cairns traversing south across the face. Bailed on that after crossing several gullies (we reached the third ridge along this traverse) and returned back to the "loose gully". Headed up this, exited right via the crux wall, worked our way up a bit further, and finally made the call to bail at around 13700-13800' at around 4:30 pm. The remaining climb to the summit would've taken us at least an hour, probably longer, and would've had us possibly descending difficult terrain in the dark.
Around 22 miles.

Pikes
With an excellent weather forecast, I had to take the day off and get out on my 40th birthday.
Started at 7:09 am. Carried a pretty decent pack (down jacket, bivy sack, wind pants, other winter gear, etc, in my 30L BD Speed pack). Would've been nice to go lighter but didn't want to do that solo on a weekday. Don't think I jogged any of the W's. Jogged on and off up to Barr Camp. Managed to jog some beyond Barr up to A Frame. Conditions were excellent. Very little snow. Didn't use Microspikes on the ascent. Above tree line, headed straight up toward the summit, managing to avoid any postholing. Pretty windy above treeline and on the summit.
Came down to A Frame alright, but was pretty much fried after that. Put Microspikes on at A Frame. Did manage to run probably a decent amount, but I was also walking a fair bit. Stopped at Barr Camp to chat with Neal T, who I'd finished right behind at Hardrock last year. Wore Microspikes a ways below Barr but eventually removed them (around Bob's Road?). Again, was just wasted coming down, but still managed to run a good portion, I think, but walked on and off as well.

5:32:02 - leaving Barr Camp

StreakNavyA - first run in these since Hardrock!
