Green

From Gregory TH, Amph, Saddle Rock, Greenman, Green; down the same.

Started at 6:00 pm. Pretty continuous snow on the trail above Greenman Spring. Thus took the upper part of the descent reasonably cautious. Picked things up below the Spring. Stopped to move a large rock off the traverse below the Greenman/Saddle Rock junction. Then just absolutely flew down the rest of the descent. Ran down Saddle Rock and Amph probably faster than I ever have. Wish I felt that "on" all the time, but this was just one of those days.

Green, Bear

From Devils Thumb, Bear Canyon road, Mesa, Bear Canyon, Green Bear, West Ridge, Green summit; down West Ridge, Green Bear; up West Ridge, Bear summit; down Fern, Mesa, Bear Canyon road.

Started at 5:50 am. With Bill W. Think this was pretty casual for Bill, but I was working pretty hard. I walked much of Green Bear while Bill kept the run going and topped out on Green a minute or so (?) ahead of me. Psyched that I managed to run much of Bear's West Ridge. Bill got ahead of me again here, but I caught up (more likely, he eased off) at the bottom of the final steep climb. We then hiked that together. Felt un-smooth as usual in Fern. Quads were pretty fried near the end of this run.

First Flatiron, Green

From Chautauqua, up to the First, on up to the start of Baker's Way, up Baker's Way and the North Arete to the summit, rapped off, directly up to the Northeast Ridge, Greenman, Green summit; down Greenman, Northeast Ridge, directly back to the First, down the First/Second trail, back to Chautauqua.

Started at 6:04 am. Headed up to the First with Bill W, Tom K, Bill H, and Maria P. Tom and I started up Baker's Way (after I changed shoes), then kept on going, while Bill climbed with Bill and Maria. Tom and I topped out and rapped off. I then stashed my gear, and we headed up Green. Topped out right behind Sheri W and Kirsten. Tom headed down Ranger/Gregory with them. I hustled down, gathered my gear, and caught up to Bill and Bill near the base of the First, then jogged down with them. Fun morning!

The Wickiup

From the I-70 exit, jogged roads until I was pretty much due south of the summit. Headed up and ascended via the south/southeast side, then the obvious weakness on the summit block. Mike G summit register from last fall. Returned more directly cross country on the southeast ridge until meeting up with the road again. 1:12:10 total time. About 0:40 to the summit.
