Spent some time identifying an "official" starting point. My notes on this point:

• drive past Paris Mill, past 3 mile marker, and past the property with the giant retaining wall
• at a spot in a flattish part of the road with willows, there's a small wooden post/stake on the right, hidden in the willows

Started at 10:34 am from an open, grassy area on the left (where I could park), a bit beyond the point described above.
